In our Nursery at Twerton Infant School, we aim to provide a caring and stimulating environment for younger children, and ensure a smooth transition from early years into Key Stage 1.

We provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor play activities, to help children develop physically and personally. We encourage our children to be curious about the world around them, to develop their communication and creativity.

We pride ourselves on supporting children with a wide range of needs through a mix of staff-planned and spontaneous activities.

Forest School

Our on-site Forest School means our children have opportunities for outdoor play and learning, which is beneficial to children’s early development and wellbeing.

In our Robins Room, children are cared for and supported while they explore a range of activities and build confidence talking with other children and trusted adults.

3-4 years

Owls Room

Our Owls Room curriculum focuses on developing children’s communication and language skills. We also emphasise basic skills in literacy and numeracy, giving them a positive start as confident learners in Key Stage 1.

30 spaces available for 3-4 year old children

Funding advice available regarding the Early Years Entitlement grant

Children are eligible to join the Nursery in the term following their third birthday (September, January or April).

Nursery Session Times

Morning

Children start the day with both indoor and outdoor play, before settling down for snack time, story time, and some singing.

8.45am – 11.45am

Afternoon

Children start the afternoon with free flow indoor and outdoor play, then snack time, story time, arts & crafts, and music.

12pm – 3pm

Full Day

Our full day focuses on continuous provision while combining free flow play, story time, art, and music. Snacks and lunch are provided.

8.45am – 3pm
